The Smartbook by In-oh Yoo and Sun-Woong Oh
After Apple announced release of the new device called iPad the Internet get full of both positive and negative opinions about the novelty. While discussing the project, critics came to the conclusion that sooner or later there will appear additional gadgets to this tablet computer. They were right, because Corean designers In-oh Yoo and Sun-woong Oh have recently presented their project of wireless mini-keypad for tablet computers.
Though the tablet computer and keyboard unit are separate, they can be charged simultaneously when being in contact through the magnet. At the same time each of the units can be charged separately.
The Smartbook is a very compact keyboard that is connected to the tablet computer wirelessly and turns it into nearly a notebook. When there is no need to use the keypad, it can be folded and put into a pocket or a bag.
However, even being folded the Smartbook can be used as a separate device – a cell phone, provided the tablet PC has 3D connection. The QWERTY keys are placed only one one side – the other side features keys for the phone, display, microphone and even a small camera.
The device is definitely very useful, however, presently it is only conceptual.
